Life Drawing

Ron Muek

Ron Mueks sculptures are very realistic and and almost look life like. Ron obviously puts a lot of thought into his characters and considers every detail about them. he is very talented at crafting the fine detail like creases and wrinkles, a large proportion of his sculptures actually feature the elderly which is probably partly because they have more detail and thus would be more interesting and enjoyable to create.
It seams that Ron is trying to make a statement with each of his pieces, firstly they are all in very non-motive positions or depicting very bland scenes, they are often naked and exposed and thirdly Ron makes all his characters slightly ugly, weird or grotesque and it seems like he is trying to say something about human life and maybe becoming old and sick? I'm not too sure, its probably something really weird from looking at his other work, however that beard is approved! Good effort!
 BEARD ON!!
